Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Deacon Melvin Skinner, 68 of 2699 Green Acres Dr. Kinston passed from labor to reward on Monday, November 20, 2023, at his residence.
Deacon Skinner was born October 28, 1955, in Lenoir County to the late Charlie W. Skinner and Annie L. Whitfield.
He is survived by his wife Terry Skinner of the home; three children, Melvin Burney, Frederick Skinner and Michelle Skinner; seven siblings, Eddie Bryant, James Whitfield, Eula Jones, Charlie Skinner, Francis Skinner, Bobby Skinner and Lynwood Skinner; five grandchildren, two God children and a host of nieces, nephews' other relatives and friends.
The service celebrating his life and legacy will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from Memorial Chapel of Trinity Funeral Service.
Burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery.
Deacon Skinner will lie in state for public viewing from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
