Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on life of Mr. David Woodrow Jones Jr. 66 of Kinston died May 18, 2025, at UNC Lenoir Healthcare in Kinston.

DJ was born March 16, 1959 in Lenoir County to the late David Woodrow Jones Sr. and Berther Lee Moody Jones. 

He leaves to cherish his memory seven beloved children: two daughters, Adrian (Kenneth) Jones Oliver of McDonough, GA, and Cleoná Patterson of Durham, NC; and five sons, Eric Jones of Birmingham, AL, Brian Jones of Houston, TX, Mark Jones of Greenville, NC, DeVonté Williams of Raleigh, NC, and Shechem Harris of Kinston, NC. He is also survived by one brother, Samuel Flager of O’Fallon, MO; two sisters/family friends, Gladys Parker of Kinston, NC, and Michelle (Larry) Johnson of Mebane, NC; several cherished grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

A service honoring his life and legacy will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, June 6, 2025, in the Memorial Chapel of Trinity Funeral Service,1276 US Highway 258 N., Kinston, NC.

The committal service will follow at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
