Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Mr. George Hicks Ward, Sr. 75 of 624 Harris Street, Cove City died Thursday, December 28, 2023, at his residence.
Hicks was born in Jones County on September 12, 1948, to the parentage of the late Odell Ward and Julia Christean McDaniel
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ward of the home; two sons, Pastor George Hicks Ward, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC and Gudell Ward of Baltimore, MD; seven daughters, Valencia Barber of Trenton, NC, Tiffany Nelson of Durham, NC, Shadonna Gunn of Mebane, NC, Diannia Bright of Dover, NC, Jennifer Bryant of New Bern, NC, Linnetta Hargett of Dover, NC and Annyanna Hargett of Cove City, NC; four siblings, Van Ward of Trenton, NC, Julia Murphy of Pollocksville, NC, Gregory Mundine of Dover, NC and Jackie Upchurch of Kinston, NC; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren.
The service celebrating his life and legacy will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2023, from the sanctuary of Northwest A. Conference Tabernacle
Burial will follow in the Bryant Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mr. Ward will lie in state for public viewing one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
