Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Deacon Harriel G. Garris, 75, of Winterville died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his residence. 

He was born February 7, 1948 to the late Reverend Leo Garris and Bular Mae Brown Garris. 

Harriel is survived by his wife, Emma Garris of the home; one son, Brennon Garris of the home; eight siblings, Maerose Henderson, of Vanceboro, NC, Rosalyn Chenn of Winterville, NC, Brenda Cobb of Vanceboro, NC, Angela Garris of Kinston, NC, Cheryl Garris of Havelock, NC, Portla Wooten, Vanceboro, NC,  Elason Garris of Los Angeles, CA, Levon Garris of Winterville, NC, and Tyrone Garris of Greenville, NC; a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The service celebrating his life and legacy will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, November 10, 2023, from sanctuary of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, Greenville. 

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Estates. 

Mr. Garris will lie in state from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church 1095 Allen Rd, Greenville, NC and will resume one hour prior to the service.
