Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on life on of Mr. James O. Simmons, Sr., 90, of 1050 S. West Craven Middle School Road, New Bern died on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, while in the care of Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro

He was born May 4, 1934, in Craven County to the late George Leo Simmons and Bertha Mae Staten.

The service remembering his life and legacy will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from the sanctuary of the Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church 1696 Tuscarora Rhems Rd. New Bern, NC

Burial will follow in the Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Mr. Simmons will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
