Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life Mrs. Addie Ruth Blount, 68 of New Bern, died on Monday, October 16, 2023, at CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern

Addie Ruth was born May 23,1955 in Craven County to Emma King Peterson and the late Willie Ernest Peterson

She is survived by her mother, Emma Peterson of Vanceboro, NC; one daughter, Karla Yates of New Bern, NC; two sons, Terrance Simmons of Australia and Antonio Samuel Blount of New Bern, NC; two brothers, Clinton Peterson of Vanceboro, NC; and Leo Peterson of Boston, MA; four sisters, Willie Mae Moore of Dover, NC, Doris Richardson of Havelock, NC, Gloria Peterson of Vanceboro, NC and Barbara Burk of Boston, MA. 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 

Mrs. Blount will lie in state for viewing from 5:00 PM -7:00PM at the funeral home of and will resume one hour prior to the service.

The Service celebrating her life and legacy will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from the sanctuary of Without Limits Christian Center 102 Washington Post Rd, New Bern, NC 

Burial will follow in the Green Leaf Memorial Park, New Bern
