She was born February 3,1944 to the late Willie Roland; she was raised by Lucy Mae Philpot and Thaddeus (Bill) Philpot in La Grange, NC.

she leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Otha Blount of 63 years, three children, Iris M. Perry, Odenious Blount and Patrice Blount, one daughter-in-law, Janie Blount, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, six sisters, Gloria Blount, Rosa Wooten, Tammy Lawson, Carolyn (Angelo) Gray, Bessie Lee Styles, and Sharon (Donald) Swinson; two brothers: Wendell Styles and Rufus (Veronica) Styles; and a host of special friends, and other relatives.
