Mrs. Nancy Carol (Harper) Atkinson

Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Mrs. Nancy Carol Atkinson, of LaGrange, died on Monday, February 17, 2025, at UNC Lenoir Healthcare.

Nancy was born March 26, 1957, in Lenoir County to the late Nan E. Dawson and Leon Dawson. 

She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Atkinson of La Grange, NC; three daughters, Latesha Dawson and Corneche Dawson of La Grange, NC, Tamilla Atkinson of Sacramento, CA; goddaughter, Ashley Brownlee; four sisters, Bernita Dawson of La Grange, NC, Carolyn  Koonce of Virginia Beach, VA, Leona Dawson of La Grange, NC, and Cheryl  Jones of La Grange, NC; two brothers, Leon Dawson Jr. of La Grange, NC, and Ray Hardy of Kinston, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The service remembering her life and legacy will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Memorial Chapel of Trinity Funeral Service 1276 US HWY 258 N. Kinston.

Burial will follow in the LaGrange Cemetery. 

Mrs. Atkinson will lie in state for public viewing one hour prior to the service.
