Mrs. Peggy Jean (Harper) Davis

Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Mrs. Peggy Davis, 89 of 706 Beech St, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at her residence.

Peggy was born March 6, 1935, in Lenoir County to the parentage of the late Rufus Perry Shaw and Mary Elizabeth Harper.

She is survived by nine daughters, Gina Davis of Greensboro, NC, Sheila Wooten of Kinston, NC, Debra Stubbs of Sicklerville, NJ, Gloria Shepard of Greensboro, NC, CleatriceSimmon of Jacksonville, NC, Sandra Dunn of Kinston, NC; Evelyn Ward of Elm City, NC; Barbara Hudson of Raleigh, NC; and Phyllis Moore of Raleigh, NC; three sons, Edward Harper of Kinston, NC, George Davis of Greensboro, NC, Victor Coward of Winston-Salem, NC Lucius Moore of Washington DC, and Charles Hines of Florida; 37 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren along with a  host of nieces, nephews, honorary sons and daughters, cousins, and friends.

The service remembering her life and legacy will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 31, 2024, from the sanctuary of the United American Free Will Baptist Conference Tabernacle, 1011 Dr JE Reddick Cir, Kinston, NC

Burial will follow in the LaGrange Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the tabernacle.
