Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life Ms. Charlene Griffin Wood, 65, of Kinston, died on Monday, March 10, 2025, at ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville, NC.
Charlene was born in Norfolk, VA on September 20, 1959, to Doris W. Griffin and the late Wilson Griffin Sr.
She is survived by her mother, Doris W. Griffin of Kinston, NC; one son, William Chadwick, III of Los Angeles, CA; and two goddaughters, Layla and Morgan Brooks. her siblings, her twin sister, Minister Darlene Henderson of Seabrook, SC, James Mackey of New Bern, NC Minister Judy G. Crouell of Dover, NC; Wilson Griffin Jr. of New Bern, NC; Robert A. Griffin Sr. of Goldsboro, NC; and Chuck W. Griffin Sr. of Kinston, NC. She also leaves behind her fiancé, Alfonso Maye of Kinston, NC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other devoted family members and friends.
The service celebrating her life and legacy will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2025, from the Memorial Chapel of Trinity Funeral Service 1276 US HWY 258 N. Kinston, NC
Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Church Cemetery, Kinston
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2025, at Trinity Funeral Service and will resume one hour prior to the service.
