Ms. Elizabeth Joyce McNeal

Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Ms. Elizabeth “Joyce” McNeal, 75, who passed away on Saturday, January 25, while in the care of WakeMed in Raleigh, North Carolina. Joyce was the oldest daughter of Walter and Mildred Francis McNeal; both of whom preceded her in death.

Joyce leaves behind her beloved daughter, Chrystal Vashon of Kinston, NC, and her son, Jonathan “Keith” McNeal (Vonetta) of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her two brothers: Alvin McNeal (JoAnne) of Washington, DC; and Jefferey McNeal (Valerie) of Newport News, VA. Three siblings preceded her in death. They were Walter Frances McNeal, Sandra Diana Broome, and Tony Andre McNeal.

In addition, Joyce leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn her loss. All will miss her dearly.

Joyce’s life touched everyone who knew her. She embodied courage, kindness, humor, and a vibrant spirit, serving as a true example of what can be achieved through love, determination, and perseverance. She will be remembered not only for her cooking but also for the warmth she shared, the love she gave, and the long-lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
