She does not answer... and yet, her silence speaks, the voice that once stirred souls with sacred truth, the hands that anointed the broken with healing grace, the heart that beat with boundless compassion and unwavering conviction has been summoned home.
Reverend Hargett was born April 5, 1955 in Craven County to the late Paul Harris and Willie B. Mabry Harris.
She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Sherri Hargett-Coleby; one son, Chanier Hargett both of Cove City, NC; five sisters, Linda Skinner of Cove City, NC, Mary Mabry of New Bern, NC, Devora Moore of Vanceboro, NC; Esther Dawson of New Bern, NC and Lilly Harris of Jersey City, NJ; two brothers, Richard Harris of Rowlett, TX and Paul Hooks of Ayden, NC; eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
A inspirational visitation will be held from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Shabach AME Zion Church, 209 1st Ave, Vanceboro, NC
The service celebrating her life and legacy will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from the sanctuary of the Northwest "A" Free Will Baptist Conference Tabernacle 682 10 Mile Fork Rd, Trenton, NC
Burial will follow in the Bryant Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery, Cove City.
A public viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the tabernacle.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 632 Brown Avenue, Cove City, NC, according to the following schedule:
